The workshop
Each work is approached through its existing textile surface, composition and intended presence. Construction and surface intervention are considered individually rather than passed through a fixed production line.
Material practices
Each work develops through its own relationship with textile, image and pigment. Explore the methods that shape the WallTheArt programme.
Across the programme, textile surfaces are assembled, drawn, painted or airbrushed—sometimes through a single process, sometimes in combination.
THE INDIVIDUAL ARTWORK RECORD IDENTIFIES THE METHODS USED
Fragments of woven material are selected, joined and balanced by hand. Seams, shifts in pile and earlier traces remain visible as part of the composition.
ASSEMBLY, RHYTHM AND MATERIAL CONTRAST
Lines and marks are applied directly to the textile surface, allowing the weave and texture beneath to shape the final image.
THE EXISTING SURFACE REMAINS PART OF THE IMAGE
Assembled textile fragments establish the structure; drawn marks extend, connect or interrupt the existing motifs.
CONSTRUCTION AND MARK-MAKING DEVELOP TOGETHER
Pigment is worked across the carpet or textile surface in controlled layers, building colour while preserving the physical presence of the material.
PAINTING MAY BE USED ALONE OR WITH OTHER METHODS
Airbrush gradients and hand-painted details are used individually or together to develop depth, tonal transitions and graphic emphasis.
THE TECHNIQUE IS CONFIRMED FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL WORK
